Auburn man arrested on multiple charges

AUBURN, Ala. - On Sept. 5, 2025, Auburn Police arrested Cameron Howard Campbell, age 29, from Auburn, Alabama on charges of two counts of theft of property first degree, possession of a controlled substance and illegal possession of prescription drugs.
The arrest stems from Auburn Police conducting a vehicle stop for a traffic violation near the intersection of South College Street and Interstate 85 during the early morning hours of Sept. 5. During the stop, officers detected multiple factors indicating criminal activity associated with auto theft. The driver and sole vehicle occupant was identified as Cameron Howard Campbell.
During the investigation, police confirmed that the vehicle being driven by Campbell had been stolen overnight from the 2000 block of Sara Street prior to the traffic stop. Additional evidence was recovered connecting Campbell to a vehicle that was stolen from the 4300 block of Golf Club Drive on Sept. 1, 2025.
Campbell was arrested for two counts of theft of property first degree. He received additional charges associated with narcotics contraband that was recovered during the investigation. Campbell was transported to the Lee County Jail and held on a $12,500 bond.
All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
